We're excited to reveal that the theme of Refugee Festival Scotland 2022 is storytelling!

Everyone has a story to tell. Our stories reflect the journeys our lives have taken and the places we want to go. They determine who we are and shape how others see us.

This year, the festival will celebrate the stories of people and communities who have made their lives in Scotland.  We’re looking forward to sharing stories in many different forms – from music, dance, theatre and film to visual art, cookery and conversation.

By sharing and listening to each other’s stories we can get to know each other better and build understanding, solidarity and friendship.

Take a look at our tips and suggestions for ways that you could share your story at Refugee Festival Scotland.

Through storytelling, we aim to:

  • Celebrate the richness and diversity of Scotland’s communities
  • Bring people from different backgrounds together
  • Share the arts and cultures of people from refugee backgrounds
  • Help to build friendships and understand each other better

Do you have a story to tell? We invite you to join us this summer as we come together to explore, celebrate and share our stories with each other.
