Are you involved in researching refugee and asylum issues?
The Scottish Refugee Research Network aims to increase links between people researching refugee and asylum issues in Scotland and to promote research into refugee and asylum issues.
Why join the Scottish Refugee Research Network?
The Scottish Refugee Research Network seeks to aid you in your research and advance the reach of your research in Scotland by:
Research
- Building a new bibliography of research and other literature relevant to refugee and asylum issues with a particular focus on the Scottish context, accessible via this webpage where possible or as requested; and
- Identifying priorities for future research across the refugee sector in Scotland.
Networking
- Providing an up-to-date directory of Scottish Refugee Research Network members;
- Bring people together within this field through event and seminars on matters petitioned by members; and
- Building links with those working at all levels in research within Scotland.
Information sharing
- Compiling regular e-mail newsletters highlighting recent research findings, policy changes and other news that may prompt research interest;
- Informing members of events on subjects of interest; and
- Organising seminars to encourage researchers to present their findings relating to refugee issues and to share research methodology.
Supporting
- Supporting other agencies and academics in researching refugee issues and, where possible, acting to avoid the duplication of research;
- Arranging for access to Scottish Refugee Council contact data where appropriate and ensuring that client confidentiality is guaranteed; and
- Investigating and identifying possible sources of funding for research into refugee issues.
