AfricAlba (SCIO), was primarily set up almost 3 years ago to close the gap in enterprise and professional sport achievements for people of African origins living in Scotland. While carrying out research and investigation in different communities, deprived and disadvantages areas of Glasgow and Edinburgh, we did notice that most people and communities in Scotland face almost the same problems and barriers as Africans. Therefore, AfricAlba membership and services are free and open to anyone who is interested.
Our vision is to positively transform and improve people and communities lives in Scotland through education, enterprise, employment and sport.
Our mission is to empower and encourage people in Scotland to become successful entrepreneurs and sport professionals, and for community organisations to become sustainable.
We have reflected on the life of African people in Scotland since 1999 and we found out that Africans living in Scotland are rare or almost inexistent in the enterprise and professional sport sectors. The same thing applied to most Scottish people from poor, deprived and disadvantaged areas.
To achieve our aims as any organisation, we do need a lot of support (political, technical, material, operational, financial…) and a good network of partners.
We are pleased to inform you that since the 31st March 2016, AfricAlba is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with the registered Charity Number SC046451.
We have some workshops and training that we provide free of charge to anyone or any group that is interested. We would be happy to meet and discuss about future collaboration with your organisation regarding our operations.
