Our Scottish Guardianship Service has been lauded by MSPs in a Scottish Parliament debate. The lifeline service, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, has supported almost 700 asylum-seeking and trafficked young people since it started a decade ago.

Angela Constance MSP, whose Motion led to the debate on Wednesday 4 November, said ‘The Scottish Guardianship Service is an exemplar of a human rights approach to how a country should care and support trafficked and unaccompanied young people. As a nation, there are only two questions we should ask ourselves: are these children and young people our bairns or are these children and young people our weans? And the answer to both questions is yes. Yes they are.’
