Scottish Refugee Council is an independent human rights charity that has been working with and supporting refugees, advocating for the rights since 1985.

We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic individual to support longer term integration of refugees settled in Dundee through providing one to one support to newly arrived refugee families. The post holder will report to the Senior Humanitarian Integration Support worker and work with the other support workers in providing welcome and orientation support and work with refugees to develop and co-produce person centred Integration plans capturing refugees’ goals and identify clear pathways to achieve these goals.

Your role in supporting the integration of new refugee families will include working directly with refugees, assessing needs, providing advice and advocacy, facilitating group work and support the learning of the service.  You will work with a range of partners and organisations. In particular you will be working with Dundee partnership

You will be degree qualified or able to demonstrate relevant advice experience, understand issues affecting asylum seekers/refugees and it is essential that you are able to work with vulnerable groups in a sensitive manner. You will have a good command of English, the ability to write clear and concise case management notes, draft correspondence and reports, good ICT skills and have experience of working with groups. You will be able to work in high pressure situations and have effective interpersonal skills including an understanding of cultural differences.

This post will be subject to a PVG Registration and you will be working towards OISC registration.

You will be working from home initially, but face to face support in Dundee will be required.
