A coalition of charities, legal experts and grassroots organisations across Glasgow have launched a new campaign against the use of institutional accommodation to house mothers and babies in the city. The campaign. Freedom To Crawl, is calling for every baby and child in Glasgow and across the country to have access to safe, suitable housing, including those children and parents going through the asylum process.

Wafa Shaheen, Head of Asylum, Integration and Resettlement said: “Every family needs a safe and secure place to live, and every baby and child deserves the space to thrive and the freedom to crawl. We’re working with partners to make sure any woman who asks to be moved is supported and her request heard.”
