At Strathclyde Police, we recognise there’s an extensive asylum and refugee community in Glasgow. We support Refugee Week Scotland and feel it’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our diverse community and show that Glasgow’s a welcoming city.

In partnership with Scottish Refugee Council, we’ve built positive links with asylum seekers and refugees, supporting community empowerment and funding local events organised by refugee groups within their host communities.

Quite often refugees and asylum seekers come from countries where they may have had negative experiences with the police. Scottish Refugee Council helps provide a positive link between Strathclyde Police and the refugee and asylum community.

We realise refugees and asylum seekers come to Scotland under extremely difficult circumstances. The support that Scottish Refugee Council provides is invaluable.
