Scottish Refugee Council's vision is for a Scotland in which asylum seekers and refugees are welcomed, respected, treated with dignity and empowered to play a full and equal role in their new communities.
This review sets out the Community Development Team's role in delivering that vision.

Finding Work - A Guide for Refugees in Scotland
Updated May 2010
With funding from the Scottish Government, Scottish Refugee Council has produced a toolkit to assist refugees in accessing employment. It contains information, guidance, useful links and working templates, to help readers better understand the UK labour market. It also includes an action plan for each user to follow with advice and support for all stages.

Fair play - refugee and asylum seekers in Scotland: A guide for journalists
The media has a major role to play in our multi-cultural society. It also has certain duties in ensuring responsible reporting on issues of ayslum, refugees and immigration. In collaboration with Scottish Refugee Council, Amnesty International and NUJ, Oxfam has produced a guide to enable journalists to cover the subject in a balanced and truthful manner.

Asylum: The facts - 2007
This useful little guide provides information about the asylum system. The booklet encourages an informed debate on asylum by setting out facts about refugees and asylum seekers living in Scotland. And it highlights the benefits they are bringing to the country.

The Way Forward - An agenda for change - 2006
In conjunction with Scottish Refugee Council, ECRE (European Council for Refugees and Exiles) has produced this booklet which proposes constructive reccomendations on a number of topical policy issues to positively influence the European debate on:
- improving refugee protection in regions of origin
- developing European resettlement activities
- creating fairer and more efficient asylum systems in Europe
- improving refugee integration.
- the return of asylum seekers whose applications have been rejected
