Sadness at the news of Iranian refugee's death in Glasgow

We are very sorry today to hear about the death of Tazarvifard Mohammed Ali.

Tazarvifard died in Glasgow at the weekend. His body was recovered from the River Clyde on Sunday.

Tazarvifard was receiving assistance from Scottish Refugee Council at the time of his death. He had just recently become a client of ours and we understand he was also receiving support from the NHS, Glasgow City Council and other agencies.

As police try to locate Tazarvifard's family to tell them the news, it makes us reflect on how many people are living among us far from their families and friends.

We didn't have the chance to get to know Tazarvifard well and this makes us think of the many individuals living here doing their best to keep on going through difficult times.

We are sorry for his family's loss. Our thoughts are with them and Tazarvifard's friends and loved ones.
