Housing and welfare
Our specialist housing team provides advice on housing options and welfare benefits to ensure you can make informed choices before transitioning from asylum support to mainstream support.
Working in partnership with local authorities and housing providers, we ensure that refugees understand the legal aspects of tenancy, tenant’s rights and responsibilities. We see approximately 1500 housing and welfare client contacts a year.
Making an appointment
Although Glasgow-based, we provide advice and advocacy throughout Scotland. Call our free phone number to make an appointment on 0800 058 6087.
Every second Wednesday we also offer appointments in Rosemont at the Life Long Learning centre. Call 0141 552 3090 to make an appointment.

Housing advice leaflets for refugees in Scotland (Nov 2009)
The housing advice leaflets provide information about how our housing team can help you. They also provide advice on housing options, overcrowding, racial harassment, repairs, renting from a private landlord, housing benefits, late rent payments and energy cost considerations.
Leaflets are available to download from the list below in English, Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish, Somali and Tigrinya.
