A new report released by Bail for Immigration Detainees shows that women asylum seekers are set up to fail if their case is decided when they are in detention.

Alternatives to Immigration and Detention of Children and Families (July 2006)
A report condemning the increase in the use of detention over the last five years, and the fact that as many as 2000 children are detained every year. The report also highlights the growing concerns over the psychological and physical impact of detention on children. This report was supported by the No Place for a Child Coalition of which Scottish Refugee Council was a partner. Scottish Detainee Visitors
Scottish Detainee Visitors (SDV) is an independent charity which provides social, emotional and practical support to asylum and immigration detainees in Scotland. SDV volunteers visit detainees in Dungavel Removal Centre on Monday and Thursday evenings.

Association of Visitors to Immigration Detainees (AVID)
National umbrella organisation for groups visiting immigration detainees. Includes visitor groups and lobbying contact details.

National Coalition of Anti-Deportation Campaigns.
Voluntary organisation providing practical help and advice for people facing deportation and those campaigning for them.
