Appeals
An independent assessment of the decision on your claim for asylum
Your legal representative may be able help you to make an appeal to an Independent Tribunal. There are strict time limits for making the appeal. You will have ten working days after you are given your asylum decision to lodge an appeal, and only five days if you are being detained.
Seek legal advice
If your claim has been refused, we strongly advise you to make an appointment to see your legal representative as soon as possible.
We cannot offer legal advice, but we can help you to contact your legal representative. If you do not have a legal representative, or if they can no longer help you, we can provide contact details for legal representatives working in Scotland.
