Travel in Glasgow

Buses

Buses are the cheapest way to travel around Scotland. To catch a local bus in Glasgow you must go to a bus stop which displays the number of the bus you want to take. It is often easier to put your hand out so that the bus driver can see that you want the bus to stop for you.

The money you pay the driver is known as the 'bus fare'. Most buses don't return any money which has been overpaid so you must try to give the driver the correct amount. Children up to the age of 5 years travel free. Children between 5 and 16 years pay a reduced fare.  You can buy ticket for single or return journeys. If you travel on the bus often it may be cheaper to buy a weekly or monthly travel card. You can get these at the Travel Centre. You can find bus number information, prices, numbers and times at Buchanan Street Bus Station and St.Enochs Travel Centre.
