Not yet supported by UKBA Asylum Support
If you have just applied for asylum and are not yet receiving Home Office support, our Scottish Induction Service (SIS) can arrange for you to be temporarily housed at the YMCA in Glasgow.
SIS will provide information about the asylum process, accessing support and your rights and responsibilities. They also provide information about legal representation, health services and GP registration.
Receiving a positive decision and leaving your accommodation
If you are granted leave to remain, you have 28 days to leave your accommodation.
This can be a complicated but we can provide advice on housing matters including:
- applying to a housing association or council;
- renting from a private landlord;
- accessing welfare benefits;
- furnishing your new house; and
- moving to another area.
