Detention

The UK immigration authorities have wide powers to detain people for immigration reasons. It is very important to find a legal representative who can give you proper advice about your detention and asylum case.

Scottish Detainee Visitors
Scottish Detainee Visitors (SDV) is an independent charity providing social, emotional and practical support to immigration detainees in Scotland, mainly in Dungavel Immigration Removal Centre. SDV volunteers visit Dungavel twice a week on Monday and Thursday evenings.

If you are detained, or know anyone who has been detained and would benefit from a visit, please contact the coordinator at coordinator@sdv.org.uk, or on 0141 248 9799.
